How it works

Simple for students. Complete for hostels.

GetMeBed replaces the phone calls, agents and out-of-date adverts with one process both sides can see.

For students

Booking a hostel bed

  1. Create your account

Sign up as a student with your email. It takes under a minute and costs nothing.

  2. Complete your profile once

Add your contact details, university and an emergency contact. Every hostel you contact sees the same profile.

  3. Search and compare

Filter hostels by city, nearby university, gender policy, room type and amenities, and check bed-level availability.

  4. Request and move in

Send a booking request with your move-in date. The hostel confirms it, and you arrange rent and deposit with them.

For hostels

Listing your hostel

  1. Create a hostel account

Register as a hostel owner or manager and set up your hostel's basic details.

  2. Build your listing

Add photos, amenities, house rules, gender policy, booking mode and the universities you are near.

  3. Map your rooms and beds

Add floors and rooms in bulk. Beds are created for you, ready to mark as available or occupied.

  4. Submit for review

Our team reviews the listing. Once approved, students can find it and send you requests.

Booking requests

What happens after you press “Request a bed”.

A request is not a payment and not a commitment. It tells the hostel you want a specific room from a specific date.

  • The hostel sees your request together with your student profile.
  • They accept or decline it from their dashboard.
  • Once accepted, the bed is held for you and marked occupied from your move-in date.
  • Rent and security deposit are agreed and paid with the hostel directly, on the terms in its listing.
  • If anything looks wrong — a hostel asking for money before accepting, for example — contact us.
