For students
Is GetMeBed free for students?
Yes. Creating a student account, searching hostels and sending booking requests costs nothing. You pay rent and any deposit only to the hostel you stay at, at the rates shown on its listing.
How do I find a hostel near my university?
Search by city or university. Hostels list the universities they are near, so you can filter to the campus you attend and compare boys, girls or mixed hostels, room types and amenities side by side.
Does the availability shown mean a bed is really free?
Availability comes from the hostel's own bed-by-bed records on GetMeBed, not from a static advert. Each bed is marked available, occupied or under maintenance, and a booking request is always confirmed by the hostel before a bed is yours.
What do I need to create an account?
An email address and a password. After that you complete your student profile once — contact details, university and emergency contact — and every hostel you send a request to sees the same, up-to-date profile.
Booking and payments
How does booking a bed work?
Pick a hostel and room, then send a booking request with your move-in date. The hostel accepts or declines it from its dashboard and you are notified either way. Nothing is charged by GetMeBed when you send a request.
Who do I pay rent and security deposit to?
To the hostel directly, on the terms stated on its listing. GetMeBed does not collect rent or deposits today. If a hostel asks you to pay before it has accepted your request on GetMeBed, contact us first.
Can I visit a hostel before booking?
Yes, and we recommend it. Each listing shows the hostel's address and contact details, and some hostels accept walk-in enrolment as well as online requests.
For hostel owners and managers
How do I list my hostel on GetMeBed?
Create a hostel account, add your hostel's details, photos, amenities and house rules, then set up floors, rooms and beds. Submit the listing for review; once our team approves it, students can find it.
Why is my listing reviewed before it goes live?
So students can trust what they see. We check that the hostel's name, address, city, gender policy and booking mode are complete and consistent. Changing any of those later sends the listing back for a quick re-review.
Can I manage more than one hostel?
Yes. One manager account can run several hostels, and you can add staff members to each hostel so the day-to-day work does not sit with one person.
What does it cost to list a hostel?
Listing is free during our launch period. Any future pricing will be announced well in advance, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.
Account and safety
Who can see my personal information?
Your profile is visible only to you, and to a hostel once you send it a booking request. We never sell personal data. See our privacy policy for the details.
How do I report a problem with a hostel or a listing?
Use the contact page and choose the topic that fits. Tell us the hostel's name and what happened; reports about safety or misleading listings are looked at first.
Still have a question?
Our team reads every message.
